Ross Trust welcomes new Trustee

The Ross Trust welcomes Geoff Nicholson as Trustee commencing 1 July 2016.  Geoff Nicholson is currently a Non Executive Director of Launch Housing, United Energy Distribution Group (a Victorian electricity distributor), the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, Marchment Hill Consulting and Athletics Australia.

He Chairs the Audit and Risk Committee’s of four of the five entities above.  Geoff was also a former Chairman of Hanover Welfare Services and a Non Executive Director of Sensis and the KAZ Computing Group, as well as numerous subsidiaries in both Telstra and AusNet Services.

Concurrently with his NED roles Geoff has also provided consulting services to Transpower New Zealand, TransGrid, Jemena, FreeStyle Technology and more recently as an interim CFO to V/Line.

From January 2007 until March 2013 Geoff was Chief Financial Officer and General Manager Finance & Strategy at AusNet Services, a top 100 ASX listed company.  Prior to joining AusNet Services, Geoff was (Executive) Director, Finance & Business Services at Telstra from 2003 to 2006 where he was responsible for Telstra’s Finance Group as well as Business Services, a Shared Services Group within Telstra.  From 1993-2002 Geoff was the Business Unit Finance lead in various Telstra Business Units including Infrastructure Services, Wholesale, BigPond & Media.  He was Chief Financial Officer of Foxtel from 1995-1996.

Ross Trust moves to on-line applications

On Monday 18th January 2016 the R E Ross Trust will be moving to an on-line application process.  During this transition period (Wednesday 13 January to Monday 18th January) grant seekers will not be able to apply for a grant. Please return to the Ross Trust website on Monday 18th January to fill in an application form.

Ross Trust 2014-2015 Snapshot

For the first time the Ross Trust has created a 2-page snapshot of the 2014-2015 Annual Report.  Please see the publications and reports section of the website to download the snapshot.

Ross Trust 2014-2015 Annual Report

The Trust accepted 144 applications for grants in 2014–15. Of these, 88 (61 per cent) were approved, and total funds of $4,038,407 were committed.

The grants were made as Open Grants, Collaborations, or Programs, across one of four impact areas – A: Vulnerable Victorians; B: Children at Risk; C: Education, Arts and Culture, and; D: Australian Flora and Fauna.
