Philanthropy acts with urgency and purpose

6 Apr 2020

We’ve joined with Philanthropy Australia and 18 other philanthropic leaders to commit to a set of principles which guide how we will respond to the COVID-19 crisis.

The pledge, which calls on other trusts and foundations to sign up too, helps to provide significant reassurance to the not-for-profit sector that we will continue to fund their crucial work in the community.

One of the key commitments is the maintenance or increase of grant funding and to look at where we can fund programs which may address immediate need.

“We work with some fantastic organisations who do the kind of work which is crucial to help vulnerable Victorians thrive. In this time of pressure and uncertainty, in a rapidly evolving crisis, the Trust joins with our peers and recognises the need to ensure some stability,” CEO Sarah Hardy said.

“We will continue to work with our grantees, partners and stakeholders to determine how we can make the best contribution both in the immediate and long terms.

“I’d also encourage others to add their voice to the statement, by registering with Philanthropy Australia as soon as possible.”
