We offer three types of grant, but only one is applied for online. The others are by invitation only.
Smart Grants: up to $40,000 per year for up to three years | Organisations can only have one active Smart Grant at any one time. For Universities, the Trust will only accept one funding request at a time. You can apply for the Smart Grant online, once you have completed the eligibility check and checked the exclusions. |
Advocacy Grants: up to $50,000 per year for up to three years (by invitation only) | Advocacy involves developing and communicating a case for change, building alliances, raising awareness and empowering people to drive change, including those most affected by an issue. Advocacy funding is available for activities such as research, evidence and dissemination, raising awareness, community organising, capacity building, policy development and lobbying. |
Challenge and Change Grants: $40,000 to $100,000 per year for up to three years (by invitation only) | The Ross Trust Challenge and Change grants are to provide longer-term positive social impact within biodiversity conservation and educational equity. We aim to support strategic, evidence-based programs that seek to provide distinct positive outcomes to the identified beneficiaries and the broader community. The Ross Trust undertakes research and analysis to understand the field and relevant issues for both funding priorities. We then partner with organisations whose mission and activities align with our shared value and purpose. |
